Pre-operative and pre-delivery cardiac assessment

When is it requested?

A surgeon, anesthetist, or obstetrician may ask for a heart assessment before an operation or delivery, especially with age, other illnesses, or cardiac symptoms.

What does the cardiologist do?

The visit reviews history and examination. Echo, ECG, or other tests may be requested before an opinion is written. That opinion supports the treating team; it does not replace the surgical decision itself.

What we do not promise

We do not publish a fixed validity period for every report, or a mandatory lab list for every operation. That depends on the assessment and the referring request.
